Nov. 2, 2016: Youngsters dressed as Hillary, Donald, dinosaurs, witches, and much more gathered at The Bronxville School's flagpole for the Bronxville Youth Council’s annual Halloween Parade and Haunted House.
Along with their parents, family members, and even some pets, the costumed revelers transformed the lawn into a party.
Bronxville Police secured the parade route along Pondfield Road, Meadow Avenue, Willow Road, and Midland Avenue and provided a cruiser escort when the marchers took their places in the street and began their procession toward the haunted house, where they each received a bag of treats.
The Bronxville Youth Council, a community service organization open to all high school students, once again oversaw the coordination of the annual parade and haunted house. Mariellen Carpenter and Brigid Buendia served as parent advisers.
Youth Council members assumed responsibility for contacting the Bronxville Police Department, making up the candy bags, and putting up and running the haunted house in the elementary school's multipurpose room.
David Russert, the faculty advisor to the Youth Council, noted that this is the ninth year members of the Youth Council have orchestrated the event.
